This Clarksville music club catered to servicemen from the 101st and is most famously known for being the first venue where a young James Hendrix performed, often with longtime friend and fellow soldier, bassist Billy Cox. These two would later go on to form the King Kasuals, who played in Nashville on Jefferson St and in Printers Alley.

According to Billy Cox: "Every time that club had a function, I made sure we played, and that we got paid. We wound up getting pretty good. We wound up playing a little club there in town called the Pink Poodle. It was owned by a mortician."

It was at the Pink Poodle that Nashville nightclub owner Theodore "Uncle Teddy" Acklen approached Hendrix and Cox about becoming the house band at one of his Jefferson Street establishments, the Del Morocco club.
