The Fairlanes

There were several mid 60s groups called The Fairlanes.

one included Robert Knight who was signing with them after his previous group The Paramounts were discontinued and he went back to school. After his departure he was replaced by Gene Golden who had previously been in the Squires. Gene would later go on to the variety act the Graduates and in 1972 he formed R&B group The Turning Point which would become the backing band for Kenny Rogers.
