STEVE JARRELL and GENE WELLS first starting playing together during the summer of 1967 at the pier in Fairview Beach, Virginia. At the end of the summer of 1968, after spending the summer as house band at Peabody's Warehouse in Virginia Beach, the two friends parted company. Gene returned to college to complete pharmacy school and Steve joined the Air Force.

After graduating from college Gene settled in Va. Beach as a pharmacist and motel owner and continued to perform on the keyboards at restaurants and private functions. After the U.S.A.F. Steve continued a career in music traveling the world as sax player for "Dick Dale & the Deltones", Steve moved to Nashville,TN. in 1978 and became a background singer for Donna Fargo. In 1981 Steve formed his own group, "Steve Jarrell and the Sons of the Beach". Steve has had the group for over 25 years in Nashville.

Steve and Gene remained friends over all these past years but never really considered performing together. It was Paul Bruening, owner of PB's Place in Hopetown, Abaco, Bahamas that suggested the two team up and with local Bahamian musicians, and form a band to entertain the islanders. PB, Gene, and Steve met the challenge and created an island band called "The Islanders" under the leadership of Junior Maynard. Steve and Gene perform with "The Islanders" when visiting the island. What followed was the enjoyment of the two performing together after all of these years and the duo was born.

With Gene on the keyboards and mastering the technology of "sequencing" and Steve singing and playing sax, the duo produce a sound equal to a full band. Steve likes to call it unit 2 of his "Sons Of The Beach". A more affordable way for buyers to have a smaller unit of the 6 piece band and still get the same quality sound. Plus, they're having fun!

Steve Jarrell and the Sons of Beach 11 provide you with great live entertainment no matter what the occasion from rehearsal dinners, corporate parties, Bar Mitzvahs, and all other events, this beach party band brings fun, quality and professionalism.
