MRR: You guys have a new record out on Thrashing Mad; how did that come about?

Sean: Well.it was an accident really, we went out by the up-towh home for homeless hii grand homie of the 3rd wic( so he gave us a box of blank records and a box of black markers.

Donnie: Actually, we were on one of Thrashing Mad's cassette comps around February of 88. Dave illentz (Mr. Thrashing Mad) wrote us and said he was thinking of doing some T records and asked If we were interested. We were, so we did lit The record came out in August, it's called "YOUR GREASY GRANNY GOT HOLES IN HERPANTIES" and we're real happy with the whole deal.

MRR: Do you have anything else coming out?

Sean: Yeah, that other record thanq!

Donnie: First we're going to be on a Super Seven records compilation called "OPRY OUTCASTS" It features four bands from Nashville and it should be out now. Then we're doing our own 7* for Super Seven records which should be out by March 90. After that we're not sure. We do know that there will be a album out by the end of 1990.

MRR: Who writes the words to your songs? They’re really cool.

Cat: Well, what do you know, thanks a lot, I wrote them. The lyrics on the EP were mostly inspired from my experiences but sometimes I just create a concept and go with it.

MRR: What’s the story behind the song “Slobber Monsters”?

Cat: Oh, thats funny. Where I go to school there's a really gross couple that used to make out in public right where everybody ate

MRR: The song “We Don’t want you Here ”, is that about the Nashville scene?

Sean: Good answer!

Cat: Not all of them, just a select few that used to support us and then started giving us a rough time whenever we played and just started coming to shows to look like they "support their scene."

MRR: You guys play out of town a lot, where’s the coolest place you’ve played?

Cat: There used to be a pizza place In Knoxville...that in my opinion tied with Dayton, Ohio as my favorite.

Donnie: There lots of cool places out there, my current favorite is Dayton, Ohio. We've only played there twice but both shows were great. Johnson City, Tennessee is also real fun. It's like being thrown back in time or something. We always have a blast there.

Sean: Yeah, my favs are Dayton, J. City, Knoxville, and Memphis.

MRR: Are you guys big in Nashville?

Sean: We re noticed, But not hailed.

MRR: Who are your Influences?

Cat: Just about everybody In some way.

Donnie: Too many to name, my current faves are the Red Hot Chilli Peppers though.

Sean: Anything that is revealing to other aspects of music.

MRR: Who came up with the name “Rednecks In Pain?

Sean: The town it depicts!

MRR: What shows are in your future?

Donnie: What shows aren't in our future! We're doing about 5 shows a month, and we're going to try to do a two week tour this spring. Who knows what will happen.

MRR: If someone wants to buy Rednecks In Pain stuft, how can they get it?

Donnie: If you want the 7’ EP, write Thrashing Mad/ 29 Perrv St # 1F/ New York, NY10014. If you want the Sick Semen cassette demo or t-shirts wrlte RednecksinPaln/ PO Box120861 / Nashville, Tn. 37212. Tapes are S4, shirts are $8.
