An integrated soul-inspired rock n roll group formed by James "Nick "Nixon.

With King James & The Sceptres, Nixon became a full-time music professional. They became a popular nightclub and campus attraction throughout the South, regularly playing at fraternity and sorority parties at Vanderbilt and other college campuses. Often they played for proms and prom breakfasts. They performed at a lot of private parties, at NCO clubs at military installations, played at many clubs in and around Nashville, and promotional events for various radio stations such as WMAK and WVOL. They were an extremely popular R & B band in Nashville during the sixties.
